What is a VIN?
A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17-character code assigned to every vehicle. It acts like a fingerprint, allowing you to track the vehicle's history, specifications, and records.
Where can I find my VIN?
You can find the VIN in several locations:
  • Dashboard on the driver's side (visible through windshield)
  • Driver's side door jamb sticker
  • Vehicle title and registration documents
  • Insurance cards
  • Under the hood on the engine block
Pricing & Payment
How much does a report cost?
Our pricing is simple:
  • Initial Report: $1.00
  • Subscription: $49.00 every 30 days (3 payments total over 90 days)
The subscription automatically cancels after the third payment. You can cancel anytime through our support team.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Can I get a refund?
Yes! We offer refunds if your report contains no data or significant errors. Refund requests must be made within 30 days. See our Refund Policy for full details.

How quickly will I receive my report?
Reports are generated instantly! You'll receive your report within 10 seconds of completing payment. The report will be displayed on screen and emailed to you.
Are your reports accurate?
We source data from reliable, official databases including NMVTIS (National Motor Vehicle Title Information System). However, no report can be 100% complete as not all incidents are reported. We recommend combining our report with a professional inspection before purchasing.
Using the Service
Can I check multiple vehicles?
Yes! With your subscription ($49 every 30 days), you can check unlimited vehicles during your subscription period. Each VIN costs $1 for non-subscribers.
Do you offer reports by license plate?
Yes, we offer license plate lookups. However, VIN searches provide more comprehensive results as VINs are unique to each vehicle, while plates can be transferred.
How do you compare to Carfax?
VIN TRUST offers similar comprehensive data at a fraction of the cost. While Carfax charges $44 per report, we charge only $1. Both services use NMVTIS-approved data sources. See our detailed comparison.
Technical Support
I entered the wrong VIN. What should I do?
Please contact our support team at hello.vintrusted@gmail.com within 24 hours. We may be able to run a new report for you at no charge if you caught the error quickly.
My report shows no history. Why?
This can happen if:
  • The vehicle is very new (less than 6 months old)
  • It hasn't been titled yet
  • It's a leased vehicle with limited public records
  • Records haven't been updated in databases yet
Contact us for a refund if your report contains no usable data.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Email hello.vintrusted@gmail.com with your email and order ID. We'll cancel your subscription immediately. Note: The subscription automatically cancels after 3 payments anyway.
